How to Choose the Right Interior Design School for You
There's plenty of interior design schools to choose from if you plan on seeking a career in interior design. But which one is right for you?
To answer that question you need to take a look at your wants and needs. What do you want to get out of your interior design degree? Do you want to be a famous interior designer to the stars? Or do you just want to join a small interior design business?
When you start to think about these kinds of questions you then want to start looking at different schools and seeing what they have to offer you.
Consider how big the class sizes are. You don't want to get lost amongst the crowd. How about the reputation of the school? Is it known for its design school program?
Also, don't get too preoccupied with Ivy League schools. Many lesser known colleges and universities have very good interior design programs.
Finally, visit interior design college campuses in advance to get an idea of what the school is like. It's important to visit the interior design college and put yourself in the environment because the experience will give you a clearer picture of what to expect if you choose to enroll. While you're visiting make sure to speak with some students and faculty members. Check out their website before hand and see if they offer tours for prospective students.
If you're unable to visit then call and speak with some faculty members to try to get an idea of what they have to offer you. Also, try to get in touch with graduates of the college if at all possible to get a perspective from students and what they thought of the school and the quality of education.
With these things in mind you should be off to choosing the right interior design college for you.

It's almost disappointing...I'm an aspiring designer but also show academic promise. I find wish there was and Ivy League school I could go to and still major in one of my interests.
